I've been a member of threadless since December, and I've voted on every t-shirt design so far, but I've never actually submitted a design. I thought of a great idea that I would like to submit, but I don't really know where to get started, what program do I make the design on?

First things first;

Have you made drawings or sketches of your design?

Do you have Photoshop or another package that you can import jpgs etc into, and then resize?

Do you know what DPI size you need for the final presentation and also for the printers if your design gets chosen?

I don't know where to get photoshop.

And i have no idea what DPI means.

ok...

I think you need to do more research before you attempt to submit a design to this site.

1). Google freeware packages that allow you to draw and resize images on your PC. Photoshop is expensive to buy, but you can get Educational versions which are a bit cheaper.

2). DPI = Dots Per Inch. This is the resolution of your image as displayed on screen (72 dpi), and also the printers resolution (300 dpi). You must have a printable version of your image if it gets picked, therefore you must save your work at two different DPI settings. One at 300, and one at 72.

If you're going to draw your design freehand (using pencil, charcoal etc) then you need to scan your image at 300 dpi.

Best of luck.
