Hello!

I havent been around here in a while because of school and boy do i miss it here in the cozy threadless blogs! So everyone i need some design advice from your supremely artistic minds!

I have questions/ need information about outline art (a design with solid one color lines throughout): What pen should i be using? I've used sharpies but they bleed a little so i was wondering if there is a specific pen made for art outlining that everyone uses. Does anyone use pen and ink and does it work?

A lot of people seem to like copic pens. smooth bristol will reduce bleeding too.

I've used pen and ink before and personally I like it a lot, although it takes a bit of practice to become comfortable using the nib.

your paper choice will matter more than your pen choice if bleed bothers you. there's nothing perfect though. that's why i turned to vector art.

For inking, I use Micron Sakura pens. They come in all sorts of sizes, too, and bleed less than Sharpies in my experience
