As someone who makes most of his money selling stuff for far more than I paid for it, hence avoiding getting a real job, I can say that is probably not true...
Also, $40 isn't really that much- not by UK standards anyway!

you guys, its just a different kind of shirt that some like and some dont. i like it a lot actually, i just dont want to buy it necessarily.

and they arent "raising prices" in any way. they have shirts in all categories of prices because of different printing methods and shirt quality and other factors.

I actually think it's really cool of Threadless to explore different methods of making shirts. It's innovative and this shirt is awesome. That being said, I can't afford it but I'm glad that it's available to those who can buy it and $40 is actually quite reasonable considering that it's a more labor intensive process. Much more.

@shobattack: I'd like to think I know a fair bit about art and design, as I did go to school for it, and pardon me if I don't think that every design deserves to have rainbows and ice cream shit onto it. Some designs are pure rubbish and deserve to be told as such.

Even though I don't like this particular design, I would defintiely shill out AU$43.15 + postage for an individually dip-dyed tee. They'd charge about five times that amount for it in a rl store, anyways.
