You have some great art, but what you seem to be saying is that a style is copyrightable. It isn't. Ideas, concepts etc. are to a degree. Look at the world, look at art. Are you really saying that because you illustrate a certain way no one else can? Try saying that to an impressionist painter or someone who does anime etc.

Defending it speaking in reasonable tones without resorting to insults. Grow up and increase your vocabulary. It will help you to know some words that go beyond the standard diction of a 14 year old.

Stickymike, it's obvious you're an extremely talented person, and I love most of your designs. It's understandable how you could be discouraged by this, and I'm pretty sure even the people who are being mean little bitches could understand your direction if they tried hard enough. Just don't let it get you down, "these things happen" is trite, but what else can you say? Just don't let a thing like this keep threadless from the benefits of more of your designs....!

I'm not exactly sure how I got to this blog, but you've spent a ridiculous amount of time arguing your point. Maybe think about designing a more original concept and than you can have something to really argue about. On a lighter note, your illustrations on that blogger site rock!

I think the design that won here isn't a particularly compelling one, but I don't see any striking similarities. Aside from faces on food and anatomical bits, we're not even talking about similar styles.

I hope we get to see more of your designs emblazoned on shirts here, because your work truly is stellar. But I think you're getting stirred up over a dissimilar concept just because a cupcake with a face almost resembles an ice cream cone with a face.
