The "3" on the shirt is backwards. I am aware it is being used as an "E" in "leet" speak but it should still not be backwards.

Yes, it says "Sell Out" but the three is still a three, not an "E." It represents an "E." The three is backwards.

as far as I know it began in the early 1980's among the "hacker" crowd (not used then in the same sense it is now) and others on the various BBSes and USENET groups.
