This is a nice start. One thing that I noticed right away is the hat on the table should be bigger.

Things you could add are

-more papers on the floor.

-maybe a newspaper with some kind of clue in it. It would be fun to look around the image and try to piece together (somewhat) the motive for the murder.

- A chair, some paintings or other pictures (that could act as clues)
on the walls.

I can't think of a good name yet, but if I do I will let you know,
keep it up.

I would have suggested trying it in black and white, but it looks good

at first i wanted black and white but looked a lot better in cream, plus i think most of the subs for noir are black so i wanted to do something different

This is super different from any of the other subs.
While it still retains the 'noir' feel, you switched it up with the color palette.
...and in this particular competition, different is gooood.
