Think about making it more of a collage of images like a movie poster.

like this

the main image would be his face then there could be a few vignettes like your original sketch and some more action oriented ones. Maybe have the text Macguybear in there as well.

that TNT is almost honeycomb shaped (at the ends anyway) does it make it any funnier if it's like a beehive or something? I like it how it is.
