Last night I discovered that some one was taking advantage of the tags which we allow to be placed in the blogs and blog comments. They embedded a remotely hosted swf file as a video object on innocent looking product comments. The result was that anyone looking at product pages with these naughty comments was tagged with the cheaters street team information.

This little trick worked really well and with their comments on only a handful of product pages they were racking up around $1k per hour in STP. So for now, we've removed the ability to use object tags in the forums. But what about YouTube videos you ask? Just paste in the url of the YouTube video you want to post and we will automatically embed it in the post or comment.
