I am so tempted to buy it in another size and just cut the design off and put it onto another shirt... i mean, for nine bucks, why not? it could look kind of cool to put it on a really brightly colored shirt...

You could always reconstruct the shirt itself... have you ever been to Craftster? They have a great recon section.
