there is a lot of gore and black humor submitted on this sight. And i'm not really sure i get the american humor does every print have to have a hidden punch line or be taking the piss?
what are people really after in a T shirt?

I'm not so sure it's an "American humour" thing, there are plenty of printed designers on here from all around the world. There's even one from Canberra :P

where you from? batemans bay? tomakin? nowra?

what are you calling american humour exactly? because i always consider dark humour to be more british. and really everyone loves a "wrong" joke.

what do you think of my critique?

Surely, enough of the stuff that prints here is "nice"?

The community as a whole seems pretty sensitive to "bad taste" to me.

Hi, I'm from Australia too, but I live in Sydney.

If you hang around the blogs enough, you'll see a blog like this every week. But it's not always the same. Sometimes it's "The designs are too artsy" sometimes it's "Artsy designs don't get printed" ,"I miss the pun shirts" or "Why does everything have to have a pun?", "Everything's too cute" or "Everythings's too gorey", "Why does everything have to be a joke?" or "Why aren't the shirts funny any more?"

The great thing about Threadless is that all those things are true and untrue all at once. They print a whole lot of cool stuff for heaps of tastes. Some weeks you wish you could buy everything and some weeks you hate everything they chose to print - and that's a good thing, for your bank balnce anyway.

I think the humour here is a lot smarter than the average "lowest common denominator" American humour. There's heaps of t-shirt sites out there where everything does have to be a joke and one in particular where everything has to be a bad-taste joke. Threadless does a lot of funny stuff, but also puts cool art out there too.

Not enough gore!

Actually, tons of blood splatters in entries cause it's emo cool, but seems pretty balanced in the printed t's.

I always think Australians can swear without sounding offensive.

Gore FTW
