What time of the day do you do your most productive work? Like drawing, graphic design, t-shirt designs, web, etc. Do you believe that quality of work is unaffected by the time of day, or do you believe that work is better when done during the day? I especially want to know what professional graphic designers think.

I've been a night owl ever since high school. And I always get into the working mode at around 10 at night.

Thoughts please.

haha Twiggy, yay for another night owl. HOOT.

I'm working on a logo for a small event right now and am wondering if I should just stop and go to sleep.

I don't really have a highpoint for work at any time in the day. I do enjoy writing extremely late. I get so delusional, words just come to me.

If you are feeling inspired and stuff, keep going...

If you are too exhausted to do anything, sleep :)

kayce, that's a good point. and yeah, I definitely had a phase where I consistently goofed off during those hours. I knew myself too well and after a while, gave up trying to be productive during that time, haha.

chipmnk, you need to get rid of that dude on your threadless page. I feel gross now! but, anyway, I relate to the delusional bit - my delusion comes with sass and it can surprise most.

Yeah, if you arent really getting anywhere, go to sleep. If you are on a roll, keep going.

I work best after 12 at night, and before 4am.

I work worst two days later.

Last year I took 4 - 8 pm (when I didnt have class) to sleep. It was bad. I got in a cycle where I was sleeping from 4 - 7 or 8 pm, and then i would work and then sleep again from 6 - 9 am. that lasted a few months.

time doesn't matter as much to me as freedom from distractions, which normally means after 9:30pm when everyone is asleep.

I keep a lil' notebook with me at all times in case I have a slogan that smacks my face off or idea comes stumbling into my brain at any time during the day. Or whenever I feel like turning off the radio and not calling others and just think of stuff is when im most productive. which means car rides a lot lately.

Clearly no work gets done at 6:29 AM when I haven't gone to bed yet.

Subsequently no work gets done the following day either.

DUDE, make this the most productive hour of your life ever. Just gobble down every drug you have in your house and grab a magic marker and some clothespins and one of the walls of your room and make us proud.

No.

I'm in bed. Not going to sleep. And the markers are way over there and I am way over here. And I am clearly the most unmotivated person ever.
