I'm not usually one to do this, but:
Similar DBH tshirt

Just to clarify before I get more trolling:
Both artists put a lot of work into both their great designs. But because both come along at once, they'll probably draw some attention away from eachother.

That is all I'm saying. If you bother to look at the congrats blog, you'll see that I've actually congratulated him.

I'm not really criticising. Both are awesome, but they are rather similar.

They actually don't look that much alike at all, except for the cat+lasers content. The style and execution is totally different.

I like both of 'em.

I'm not saying the Threadless one is a copy. I'm saying maybe it inspired the DBH one, which got printed first.

Jeez, lighten up. I wasn't saying any stole anything. I was just saying they remind me of eachother.

The threadless one was subbed first but DBH printed the other one quicker.

well since its belt printed its not printed by our normal printers so we have to send threadless shirts off to them. the first time they printed it the halftones were much too big so i had to redo that, then they have to send all the shirts back to our normal printers who then added that cat, again had to adjust some sizes of things ( i really wanted this shirt perfect) and finally we have a lot of printed stuff in the que so i just had to wait. it was picked a week after it was done scoring (before that other shirt was even in the running) it really broke my heart when i saw it was printed. mittens really has been my favorite design at this point and i knew we would get the "oh how cconvenient threadless printed that now" or "why would they print it when dbh has a shirt like that"

moral of the story...i need to stop doing belt prints for everything

y'all in the inner-sanctum-circle who are "in the know" need to back off

obviously there are similarities and i remember joe posting something about being disappointed that dbh printed that after he subbed his design (not his comment in the spoiler blog either)

If people want to be offensive, they should back off and do it elsewhere. I'm not making you read my blog. I just thought it was a pity that two designs looked quite similar.

Maltzmania
Maltzmania on Jul 21 '08 at 10:21am
Ok. Here's the thing VonBrookhofen. You can't make this kind of a blog and not expect the kind of reaction you received....and when you say it's a "pity" you're implying something. Unfortunately it was conceived the wrong way...so either roll with it...or post more koi pics
VonBrookhofen
VonBrookhofen on Jul 21 '08 at 10:24am
What does 'pity' imply? I'll tell you how I meant it to mean in this sense. Both artists put a lot of work into both their great designs. But because both come along at once, they'll probably draw some attention away from eachother.

If I've come across as offensive, I haven't meant to be.

Hey Joe, remember when you were working on this and you asked me what else you should put in it, and I was like, "lazerz". And then you were like, "You give me all the best ideas." And I was like, "yeah."

What does the back look like? Is it just blank?

if we've learned anything from superman comics, these cats are completely different because joe's cat is wearing glasses
