It's obvious to me why rethreaded is no longer around: it was forum based. Would you send something to someone who you don't know and aren't sure is going to send you what they say they will something that is basically impossible to replace? I don't think so. For it to work, there has to be some kind of verification system in place and threadless is by far the best way to make that happen. I just hope that someone from the staff reads this post.

Huh. I just looked over the site. It's not terribly user friendly, it doesn't look like it is used very much (there was stuff posted in 2009! for sale, not exchange!), and its verification system doesn't seem to be too great. Having said all that, I still think an official Threadless marketplace is the way to go for after-market transactions. There'd be far more traffic than some unaffiliated site, robust verification that would make people more apt to use it, and the GUI that threadless has could be adapted is rather nice and could be adapted for trading.
