uh, i utterly hate shadecloth! where i work, i have to cut the damn thing..and its so annoying..it just want to stab anyone who asks for it instead of using my knife on the shadecloth!!

the moral is: don't work anywhere with shadecloth.

Skinny Child
Skinny Child on Nov 09 '07 at 5:37am
haha yes squatterjohn quite true..umm for those that don't know shadecloth is a fabric of sorts made of nylon that filters sunlight so there is less of it underneath it..normally green for some reason..

in your lifetime that's probably true, but i remember a time before google when everyone had a shelf of encylopedias several feet long where they searched for knowledge. and before that they asked priests.

I'm sorry Tom Callaghan. That was mean of me.
I'm sure you're a nice guy (eventhough you hate adorable little creatures). It's just that...well, I love koalas.

Really, I LOVE them.
So I took it personally when I saw that you don't like them.
We may not be destined to become the best of friends, but you should know that I don't really hate you.
I just don't understand you.

Oh, khol, you and your irrational hate speech. Is no one safe from your venomous words of rage? What are you rebelling against?

(The only acceptable answer is "What do you got?" while you flip up your shirt collar)
Khol
Khol on Nov 11 '07 at 1:39am
I also debated on calling him racist against koalas.

What do you got?
*flips up shirt collar*
(Note: I actually am wearing a collared shirt at the moment and I really did flip it. I'm not a faker)

(I totally believe you. That's why you're awesome.)

Koalas are not a race. He's speciesist, or familyist, or perhaps even an infraclassist if he hates all marsupials.
Skinny Child
Skinny Child on Nov 13 '07 at 12:51am
there is a reason why i hate koalas. in case you don't know, they are, in some areas, a threat to other species.
on Kangaroo island, they have bred uncontrollably, and basically they have stripped the island bare of eucalypt vegetation. so not only are they starving themselves out, but by stripping the leaves they are destroying the habitat of other native animals such as parrots and posssums. the situation has become so dire that rangers have been forced to cull koalas, otherwise the fragile ecosystem could be creatly diminished and cause a subsequent decline in numbers of other species.
This is also happening in other areas of Australia, it is not a remote scenario. So i don't hate koalas because i find them unattractive or pathetic, i hate them because they cause problems!
Unfortunately, this same thing is happening to kangaroos as well..there are far too many of them. luckily, Australia is backward enough to be the only nation on earth to consume its national wildlife symbols - kangaroo and emu.

Oh, I see. I guess your koala problem is like our northern snakehead problem in Maryland.

But snakeheads are creepy half fish half snake creatures while koalas still look cute and cuddly.

Ooh-er, Skinneh. Did you know I've been to Kangaroo Island? T'is quite fabby and marve, except there's an incredible amount of yucky roadkill. But the sea-lions and platypi (Haha- how do you spell the plural for platypus...??) are super sweet. You kinda wanna hug them. And my sister trod on a stringray, which was lol. Anyhows, that's my story.

5 DAYS!!!!!!!!!!!! YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Its not the fault of the Koala. More than likely it's humans fault that the natural predator in that area has died out.

Australian animals tend to have no natural predators. Very few native animals are carnivorous and the carnivores are very small, cat-sized. The koala most certainly does not have any natural predators.

koalas aren't cuddly. they stink of eucalyptus and urine and have claws like an eagle. and they make scarey arse noises in the middle of the night.

Hahahaha to Jebbie. That's awesome, and so cute. Skinneh actually has long arms, and also has freakish elbows: he's so thin that it feels like he has two elbows in one arm... if you, erm, catch my drift. And that's a terrible pic of me... don't look. But Nevvy looks adorable, as usual. We luuurve our Neville, eh Skinny?

All about me
Hey Guys, the names Tom, but 99% of people call me Skinny, including some of my school teachers. I'm a fun loving person, and love my friends dearly. I'd die quickly without social interaction, and now, without my Threadless! hehe. Um I live in Australia, we actually live in civilised cities, don't speak like Steve Irwin, and yes, we do enjoy that dreaded substance Vegemite. You must try it before you die - it may send you to your death though haha. Im a dancer, and love the sport. I HATE the fakes, the racists, the homophobes and anyone else who makes life difficult for another person, or animal for that matter. I have been known to quote the random, and laugh spontaneously at inappropriate moments. HAHA! so anyway, catch ya!
