about Liberty
is looooong. Really long. I don't know why, but this shirt is significantly longer than the other Threadless tees I have of this size (and yes, I mean the new Malaysian tees). There has been a great amount of comments about the inconsistency in sizing of these new shirts, and I have to say that this really is way way off compared to my others. And of course it can't be hemmed. And it's sold out in a smaller size. And lastly, it has a pretty obvious grease-smear fingerprint on the front.

Don't know what to do. They're all gone. I can wash it, and see if the grease comes out and the tee shortens up a bit, but if not, it's not returnable. And when I say long, I mean long. It's upper thigh length. I'm 5'4 - and this shirt is a dress. With a smear.

I like the new shirts - they're soft, they're a nicer fit in the waist and sleeves, I like the neckline. But it is really hard to get differently sized tees every time.

Aw, drats.
That doesn't sound good.. and I've already ordered mine in medium girly.

What size did you get it at?

berrynoir on Apr 15 '08 at 1:17am
Medium girly. But maybe yours will be ok. They are inconsistent at best.

oh noes, i was afraid of that! :( the american apparel girly tees fit me just perfectly, and i was hoping that the longer length on these new custom tees wouldn't be so bad... fingers crossed though! how are the sleeves different?
berrynoir
berrynoir on Apr 15 '08 at 5:25am
Sleeves are different in a good way (to me). A little bit longer, but still feminine.

Wait, Malaysian tees? I thought they were from Bangladesh?
berrynoir
berrynoir on Apr 15 '08 at 5:50am
Huh - you know, you're right - I just checked the label and it is made in Bangladesh - I had another tee from another site I was comparing it to, and that one was from Malaysia.

Oh that's good. I was worried for a second because people are saying the Custom colours used mainly for Selects and made in America are different to the regular colours made in Bangladesh. And another country could make things even more inconsistent.

I can't say personally whether it's true they're different yet though.

Ruh roh. I ordered the small, but that's what I usually get. I'm the same height as you. Hopefully it will be OK. Should have it today.

I just got mine in a guys small, and I see what you mean by the length. Most of my small threadless shirts meet at my waist perfectly, but this one covers up my crotch haha :')
but meh. its no biggie to me. Its an amazing shirt and eveyrthing fits nice&slim (:

i got the girly 2x, and it fits ok except it is also insanely long. and there is some type of stain on the top, right across my chest; almost looks like someone ironed it too long or something. i gotta return this; i just can't wear it.

danisse on Apr 16 '08 at 5:24pm
Oh yeah -- I'm wearing my girly small today and... it's fine. It's the same size as my other recent shirts, if not a smidge shorter. What's up with that?
berrynoir
berrynoir on Apr 16 '08 at 6:33pm
No idea - I have a pic of this shirt up on my profile and I took it in two parts, so you can see how long it is. Mini dress, really.

I think it's not that bad. I like the look on you. The shirt accentuates your slender frame. Girly shirts on malls these days are cut like that :-D

Thanks! You put me back together! :)
It's sold out except for the guys XS - which is nearly the same length, so I'm gonna keep it. It's beautiful work.

Btw, are there any stats on who has sold out the fastest? I think this one would be up there, if not at the top. I remember Runnin' Rhino went really fast, but this was...wow!

I think Bone Idol sold out in record time. There was a reprint after only a few days. I missed it both times.

Grrr...

Wow... that is long!!! I just ordered a girly M and would have gone S were it not for the decrease in bust size (AA M used to be just perfect!!). I'm hoping it's not a dress on me - luckily I'm 5'8"... but from that pic it still looks as though it will be too long :(

I had weird grey spots on I love the 1880's and they came out in the wash. I used Tide and let it soak a while just in case (that T sold out too fast too before I could return it for a different one) but the spots washed out without any extra hassle. I thought mine might be from the embroidery machine? So I'm not sure if your spots are the same kind of stain.

Is anyone having a problem with the collar on these new shirts? I wore Liberty once and washed it and the collar is coming undone from the shirt. I don't know what to do since it can't be replaced. I've bought numerous t-shirts from Threadless and I've never seen this happen before.

I got mine today - there is no problem with the length on mine, in fact it's pretty much the same as every threadless shirt I own (each give or take a bit). Will have to keep an eye on the collar when I wash it!

I got mine a little while ago, and it is beeeeautiful. Not too long, not too short. It comes down probably to about halfway down my butt; but even when it bunches it up (as it inevitably does), the design's still quite clear, which I'm relieved about. It's even prettier than it looks on the website - I'm so happy I got this design! Gorgeous. :)

And now I see roadkill3d's had yet ANOTHER awesome design printed...the guy is on a roll! I love the statement made in his latest print, too. :)

Got mine today and it's huge...first one I'd ordered ever so I had nothing to compare it to apart from non-Threadless tees. Can't return it because there's none left but I'm swimming in it...makes me look like a pregnant elephant. I'm really disappointed about this one because the placement of the design means tucking in (yuck) won't work, hemming won't work, it's essentially unwearable except maybe to sleep in. Not happy, Jan! :(

Related to what shirt sold out fastest.... I recall Runnin Rhino selling out within 3 or so days.

And about the shirt length...... I'm staying away from new Threadless shirts with the design at the bottom. I have similar crotch covering mini-dress issues with I love 18(80)s and its just sad that i love the shirt too much that i both can't return it and I cant wear it.

The good news is you got a really cute dress for the price of a shirt!

Thanks! :) But I think it's maybe a little obscenely short...
It's more the bunching up issue - but it's such a beautiful shirt that I'll just deal.
