How are the kids' sizes??

I am really interested in the Georgia shirt, but alas, there are no more girls sizes available. I was thinking that I may be able to pull off a kid's size, but was wondering about the construction, shrinkage, etc. Any tips/advice? Maybe a kid's 10 for a girl's large?

I ordered a kid's 12 and I normally wear a girl's small or medium. Kid's 12 is slightly shorter, wider, and sleeves are tighter than girl's sizes.
