Choosing Accurate Ink Colours

When you set up a submission, how do you specify ink colours accurately? Are the screenprinting inks Threadless use just standard Pantones, or do they have their own matching system?

i have not been given an answer regarding production process here. i'd imagine with all these specialty printings there'd be a need to use spot color constantly, but threadless provides no swatches and no guide on color. some inks are translucent with capability for overprint, but to what degree do they look like your expectation?

i think threadless just uses pantones. i don't think you have to specify them, though. sometimes i just sent them files with RGB color settings, and they figured out the closest pantones or whatever themselves.
