While at the Royal Oak Clay and Glass Festival today an old gentleman approached me to sign a petition to get on the ballet to run for congress. It turned out to be Dr. Jack Kevorkian. "He is most noted for publicly championing a terminal patient's right to die via euthanasia; he claims to have assisted at least 130 patients to that end. He famously said that 'dying is not a crime.'"

He was a very nice man and was happy to let me have my photo taken with him just after I signed my name.

I don't believe in question marks either

I prefer people to follow the inflection in my text

he looks like he could be anybody's nice old grandpa who takes you fishing and watches wheel of fortune before retiring at 8 at night.

then again he could very well be all of those things anyways.

Do you mean Richard Pryor? ;)

Also, he is sort of a legend around here, since this is where he is from, so it's not completely weird to have met him. Also, he didn't have to introduce himself. He never said his name. I knew he was once he got closer.

hahahaa yes
*hangs head in shame*

i'm terrible with names.

anyhow, old guys reach this age and they look that way for the next twenty years. it always weirds me out a little. william s. burroughs lived his last years in the town i'm in now and ppl would have sitings and of course know who he was. but if i saw him, i'd be all "fuck, someone call 911! the walking dead the walking dead!"

so, is he still on his assisted-nonliving kick?

I don't think he's assisted anyone in a long time. He was in jail for like 8 years, and they let him out early... just last year... because he has cancer I think. He seemed in pretty good shape for an old-timer though. Well spoken and personable.

You have to admire that he was willing to go to jail for what he believed in.
