Hi!

I took some pictures from Grant Park last night during the historical event that has taken place.

What were you doing last night when they announced the results?

Yeah I was.

Most polls in Canada showed that about 80% of us wanted Obama as president. So it looks like a lot of us were happy with the result.

i had just flipped to msnbc and they were counting down the west coast, and suddenly it flashed on the screen and it was sooo quiet for so long as they jumped back and forth from different location shots, then suddenly you could see it ripple across the crowd in grant park. it was amazing.

it was the longest silence from commentators i'd seen on tv this whole election...

at first when msnbc made the announcement i was just like, "awesome..." but then as they slowly started to show reactions from across the country and across the world, i couldn't stop smiling.

it was cool, i was watching the results all day, and when they showed the first people entering the field and all the people lined up to get in. incredible how fast it all filled in, it really was impressive...

I bet when you are an oldie you will be telling your grandchildren about being there - must have been quite an emotional experience.

i know what you mean tracer. im not a hugely political person, but just watching everyone's reactions and seeing how happy some people were was really infectious

Gah. I live in a major city and I spent last night being really sick.

But I was thoroughly cheered by voting for the winner for the first time since I was old enough to vote! Yay!

And now I'm eating chicken soup! Yay!

I love Really Rosie. Except I had soup with noodles.

Gah! Brian! I got discriminated against after I voted! We live in a mostly Orthodox Jewish neighborhood and had stopped into a kosher dairy restaurant to pick up a to go menu, and this guy started talking to us, and then he freaked out when Elisha touched me, and then freaked out big time when he found out I wasn't even Jewish and told me I'd be destroying 3000 years of cultural heritage if he didn't end things with me.
SoulfumeInc
SoulfumeInc on Nov 05 '08 at 11:16am
yea, good thing it wasnt a double bummer

yikes @ kosher dairy dude
