with the rising gas prices and global warming everyone should stop driving as much or else the world is going to turn into like mad max

simple solution: bikes

what kind of bike do you have?
do you use it often?
how far do you usually ride?
do you wear your helmet? (because you should)

Haven't ridden a bike in about 10 years. I should really get one since Vienna is ideal for the cyclist and I need to get fit. I tend to walk or use public transport.

I don't have a bike. But if I did, I would wear a helmet because it is the law.

I haven't rode a bike in a while either. If I tried to use a bike instead of a car where I live I'd be killed within a week. My town is not bike friendly at all for transportation reasons. We do have a lot of recreational trails though.

I should add that I don't have a driving license either so driving has never been an option for me.

this is mah bike

I use it almost every day to ride to friends houses, the coffee shop, or just around the neighborhood.
And I do wear a helmet

My mum would not let me hire a bike in Vienna. I could've really shown her and just done it anyway, but it was hard enough gettin used to the fact that they drive on the other side of the road there and that you can't just walk out onto a pedestrian crossing even though they're marked like a zebra crossing they have lights.

New Bike!!

I'll be biking at least 10 miles 3 days a week this summer to get to my work. I want to avoid driving/paying for public transportation as much as possible. I'm working on the helmet situation...

I have a bike don't ride it that often. You see, I have to drive 20 miles on the freeway to get to work. They're are a few people that ride their bikes along that corridor, but people DIE out there man!!!!

I have a 1970 Shwin.

It kinda looks like this:

i cycle everyday near enough on my shitty £100 bike which is falling to bits. literally. the top 6 gears only work with the right combination of luck and pure luck.

don't wear a helmet.

i'm very erratic and always in a rush so i'm always nearly crashing into people and things- ladders, scaffolding, fences, cars.

it's my current most fave thing in the world.

It is handy to take on the train, but tiring to ride long distances.

Instead I ride a beat up busted dutch bike for 5 mins to the train station in the mornings and back home after work.

I'll be honest I’ll be honest here and say that the only reason that I wear a helmet is because I don’t want the wind to muss with my luscious hair. Oh, that and I’ve also been hit by a car TWICE!!!!

lulz

Apparently, there are more bikes than people in the Netherlands, so every average duch person owns 1.3 bikes. I'm very average and own exactly that amount.
TheArtRobot
   TheArtRobot on Jul 06 '08 at 2:38pm
The average Californian owns 2.5 neon Jeep Wranglers and 99 big-boob-beach-blond-babe-zillas... and a surf board to shred on.
I need a road bike, what kind should I get? (I'm looking for one with a good number of wheels and also steering bars, nice ones.)

I use a red Raleigh venture.
I use it all the time and am bringing it to college next week.
When I'm riding for pleasure, I bike about a mile to a creek and then a mile back home.
I don't have a helmet.

I usually ride about 20miles round trip 4-5 times a week.
We've got a great trail and park system in NE Ohio.

Specialized Stump Jumper Pro

I try to get out 1 or 2 times a week 10 ~ 20ish miles.

however I rode it yesterday and broke my back brakes somehow..So I'm going to get parts to fix it right now actually.

I use my brothers bike every summer to go to University for summer school since the shuttles only work during the normal school year. I have no idea what kind it is. And I don't use a helmet even though I've had a couple of close calls where I could have injured myself.

I got a 'grandma' bike cause that's that's the chillest way to ride ^^

i just went on a really good night ride. usually, chicago's lakeshore bike path is really crowded, but at night it is relatively empty. i was going for a leisurely ride but couldn't help but push myself really hard the entire time. that felt GREAT to ride hard.

I can't ride a bike ;-;

I learnt like once, and even if there is a saying about how something can be "like riding a bike - you'll never forget" I totally have forgotten how to ride ;-;

Oh and in my defence I think it has more to do with the fact that my knees are screwed and riding plus my knees equals bad rather than I'm retarded.

Although, I'm sure part of it is more to do with the fact that I'm probably retarded ;-;
