Is anyone else excited about Pushing Daisies, and Across the Universe being on the ballot this year?!?!?!
ianrose
ianrose on Dec 16 '07 at 4:54am
I hope Pushing Daisies gets at least one of the three. Wonderfalls never got an award, so that writing/production team is totally due.
Mr.Lunatix
Mr.Lunatix on Dec 16 '07 at 4:55am
I completely agree, Wonderfalls is definitely a cult hit, and was severely underrated. Its good to know you can buy the series on DVD now, (currently in Transit for me)

Yeah, I picked it up a little while back and its one of the favorite DVDs in my collection, one of the few I go back and watch regularly. Even though Pushing Daisies pissed me off a little this week on a technical nerdy thing, I love it almost as much.

is it just me or does juno look awesome?
ianrose
ianrose on Dec 16 '07 at 5:07am
I've been trying to avoid any details about it, because it does look cool, and I want to go in fresh. Same with Cloverfield and everything else that seems interesting.

Yeah, I usually have to drive about an hour for decent small-run movies. Sucks.

I saw a screening of Juno, and the movie is definitely worth the wait. Much like Across the Universe it was very difficult to see in Texas, but Austin was showing a private screening of it, and I just happened to be in the right place at the right time. I am really excited about Lars and the Real Girl, and The Bell and the Butterfly is up for Foreign Films, this year was amazing in cinematic talent.

it'll be interesting to see if wga gives its blessing to the golden globes, if there's still a strike not many of those nominated are going to be crossing the picket line to attend...
Mr.Lunatix
Mr.Lunatix on Dec 16 '07 at 5:21am
Yea Juno goes "Nation" on Christmas. Yes the strike is still in full force, with Viacom and Disney not budging but "promising" better deals, they will not be giving up any time soon. I agree though it will be interesting to see if Katherine Heigl, avid WGA supporter will accept her win this year, assuming she wins. (Though I still hold a special place in my heart for Ugly Betty)
ianrose
ianrose on Dec 16 '07 at 5:25am
I completely support the strike, but I really hope the WGA gives its blessing for the awards. The awards are for work finished before the strike, and the guild members should be eligible to be rewarded for the best of that work. Anything else is just sort of silly.

Speaking of the WGA, I will be posting in a new blog the WGA 2008 Radio and TV Nominees.

All about me

I have been creating Graphics since I first got a computer (a Windows 95, Dell,LOL) anyways, I've always been interested in Art, thats why my major is in Cinematography. I found this site in a movie magazine published in Europe, and since then I am addicted to it... I just wish my difference check didn't come in..because now I have an excuse to spend it.
