Hey
Hello everyone, I just joined threadless pretty recently and still have not really learned everything. When you submit a slogan what sort of percentage does it have to get to move on? And are designs and slogans that pass based on contests or do they put through the ones they like. "They" being the threadless people... Thanks.

Hey there Bilfo, I dunno what it is with the slogans, never really understood that part of it..

But you can submit your design for either a contest that is going on, or just the normal scoring.
Even if your design didn't win in the contest, but threadless still believes alot of people will buy will print that shirt for themselves.

I'm horrible at explaining, did i answer your questions?

there's info about it somewhere, i asked a similar question back when. i think there's no reason to the madness. a shirt was printed and the slogan had like a 28% approval or something. i was shocked! some people have 50% on some of their slogans but still no shirt. i don't think anyone knows for sure.

its pretty much up in the air as to which slogans wil get printed... im pretty sure their method is basically taking a bunch of high scoring ones and pulling one out of a hat

Alright thanks, that blog was helpful. "I'm a noun" is hilarious. But still...26%. It does seem to be pretty randomized.

If you submitted some slogans, you'll notice that a 26% slogan is not that easy.

I'm skeptical about slogans.
Some of the printed ones are good, but many of them are so... annoying. I have a 29% and a 32% slogan, both submitted for several months, no word about printing them, and I quite don't have much hope anymore.
Despite the fact that printed slogans can still be voted, you could notice that "Slogan Club" members have really high score on their slogans (usually above 30%), some times reaching 60%. And some times I've seen stupid slogans get around 10% anywhere, and almost the same slogan by a Club member reach 30%. They vote on themselves, as you can see (they ask for it), and sure "they" know about it, and (fortunately) do not simply pick the highest scoring slogan.

In sum, you have a great idea? Submit it! You have a not-so-great-but-still-funny idea? Submit it too! But don't expect some extra $100 to show up in your wallet, no matter how brilliant your submission is.
