Lately I've been doing this sketchy/Cartoon style, but I'm not sure if it look right for a t shirt. If you look at my last one It was done the same way.

i think the sketchy style works best when done with traditional media. on illustrator it has this strange clean, forced sketchy appearance. it almost looks like pieces of string.

i think if you want to go this route you should draw it on paper first, then scan and livetrace it.
