Good Morning,

As an artist I understand that what we do is unique and at times not understood by many for whatever reason. Since I have started submitting my work I have noticed that I am finding it very difficult to achieve a score of at least 2or better.

Every item that I have submitted thus far has been scored low, what am I doing that is creating a discomfort to people on threadless!?;

Thank You
Afromation

hey aformation, i looked at your designs and your illustrations are good, but i guess you need better concepts to get all the love ;)
have a peek at printed designs, maybe that could help you to get a better view of what the threadless people like?

You've got a nice style but I think the thing you should focus on most is the concept of your designs. If you have a great design based on a concept that voters can comprehend/enjoy, then you've got a shot a good score and maybe a print. It might help to use the critique section as well. Bottom line: just keep at it and you'll get there eventually.

It's concept and artwork. It has to have been well put together, and the idea must be upto scratch. Also take into account you are appealing to a wide audience so avoid in jokes or 'regional' designs.

Honestly, I think threadless pass by many great designs in favour of designs that please the masses. This is a shame but just gives an example of personal taste. I bet pretty much every threadless member could reel off at least 10-20 designs they had wished got printed, but wouldn't actually buy many of the current catalog. But they have to make a living and are doing pretty well at it. They obviously know what sells and what doesn't.

Yea you're illustrations are nice. just keep in mind its not just about the drawing though, its how it looks on a tshirt. presentation is just as important as the artwork
