about Bunyan's Blues
Hi There,This is Pseudo Fatheed aka kennybanzai, Style Swap participant, and designer of Bunyan's Blues. This Style Swap was such a great learning experience for me as I tried to mimic the awesome style of Fatheed aka Aled Lewis, one of the multi-printed Threadless community wonder children... The design started by looking at Fatheed's work and trying to get a good feel...He loves to show his process in the blogs, you should check those out. I found he likes to create scenes of sorts... i imagine some of the designs like on a stage or a scene of a play... For many of these I think he draws with nice precise perspective lines which probably creates the sense of depth or space..land etc...The characters and objects fill out the framework into great compositions of awesomeness and hilarity... So I then started just writing down words of ideas , and the top three were (nobody steal them please :P) , Dooks of Hazard ... birds chasing and pooping on the General Lee from Dukes of Hazard, Rough times at the Bunyan home ... the bunyan family eating blue meat around a table, and a cowboy in the dusty west branding a train among graffiti leaving his brand/Tag... I worked on the first one, Dooks of Hazard a while but I decided to change to Bunyan... So, for a good scene I realized a charcoal grill we had was pretty generic, good for drawing, and my brother in jeans with flannel could be a great model.. and that was it...grilling a blue steak! so I kind of traced first and then enhanced a Fatheedesque color scheme with the beard and axe then finished with stumps and tree.... Here is a picture of my bother standing at our grill which we got from neighbors trash when they moved out...heres a pic Thats it! That product shot guy looks crazy in the eyes! Congrats to the other winners this week, one being Aled with the Foam Monster! Thanks Style Swap! Thanks Fatheed! Thanks Threadless! Thanks Voters! Thanks Chris my Brother! Thanks Paul Bunyan! Thanks Babe! -Ken aka kennybanzai www.kennybanzai.com

I haven't submitted any photos. I guess I don't want free money.
