First print bliss!
It's great to see that both the hoodie with the under-the- hood-thief as wel as the tee with the inside-the-hem thief have been printed. Thanks a lot to those who supported the design and to Threadless for printing it! I hope you like the results. (Bonus effect is that you can go and play 'find the villain' with your beloved one if you wear this one. See if they are better in tracing thieves than those dapper detectives)
If you don't want to livetrace your work and use it as it is in illustrator, here's a method that I use a lot. It works great for linework as well as textures.
![]() * Import your photoshop or TIFF document in Illustrator [ file -> place ] * place a rectangle of the colour you want the linework to be in underneath the imported file * select both rectangle and photoshop file * open your transparency tab and click the little pointer on the right * switch on 'new opacity masks are clipping' * switch on 'new opacity masks are inverted' * hit 'make opacity mask' your linework will now be in the colour of your rectangle, while all whites are transparent. Your linework will appear in the layers as a path with small dashes underneath. ![]() * To colour in your linework, work underneath your opacity mask. * If you want to edit your image (move it around, scale it etc) select the path and double click the right square on the transparency tab. The opacity mask with the image will now open in it's own layer set.
---------------- UPDATE: new version WIP ADDED--------------
Maybe the z-list superheroes haven't reached their full potentional the first time around (story of their lives I'd say), but I consider giving them a second chance. It seems that the type was hard to read for several people which mightn't have helped their case. Would it be worthwile redoing the design and resubbing? ![]() ![]() Also, someone made a valid point that the idea would pack more pizzaz when concept and names could be read straight off shirt with ease. In that light, I consider adding the title (the z-list superheroes) in some movie type font on the top, and all their names in comic-y font under the characters. Any thoughts on the matter? ----------------------- EDIT ------------------------------------ ![]() Type and type-colour for the names changed, added the title on the shirt, 2 heroes remoeved, 1 new hero added, 2 heroes adjusted. My question to you guys: Did the design improve?
Almost last day for the couch surfers!
![]() Votes and comments appreciated! Guess the score and win Tee of choice when printed! (Closest guess without going over wins). Also, there is and animal of the seafood type hidden somewhere on this design. The person that finds it first wins a lucky postcard + button. Oh yeah!
Only a few hours to go!
People well in touch with their inner detective are invited to do a guess, and other Clouseau's are welcome to guess too. Votes and comments appreciated! ![]() Cheers! ----- Forgot to add prize! Prize!: handprinted buttons for closest guess without going over.
For the "Old fashioned fun" theme I've been playing around with traditional dutch delftware tiles a bit.
(thats the stuff dutch tourist shops are plastered over with, considered a both a bit tacky and retro cool in the Netherlands) Rather than the omnipresent winmills clogs etc, tiles would be filled with all sorts of slapstick kinda characters. It would be a one colourbeltprint, tiles approx 12 centimeters. so What do you guys think, Is this an idea worth the execution? It's quite a time consuming design ( I'd have to make over 25 tiles, and I'd like them to be all dsifferent) so I'd thought I'd check first.... ![]() |
I haven't submitted any photos. I guess I don't want free money.
