---------------- UPDATE: new version WIP ADDED--------------

Maybe the z-list superheroes haven't reached their full potentional the first time around (story of their lives I'd say), but I consider giving them a second chance.
It seems that the type was hard to read for several people which mightn't have helped their case.

Would it be worthwile redoing the design and resubbing?

The z-list superheroes - Threadless, Best T-shirts Ever

Also, someone made a valid point that the idea would pack more pizzaz when concept and names could be read straight off shirt with ease.
In that light, I consider adding the title (the z-list superheroes) in some movie type font on the top, and all their names in comic-y font under the characters.

Any thoughts on the matter?

----------------------- EDIT ------------------------------------

The Z-list superheroes (resub WIP)

Type and type-colour for the names changed, added the title on the shirt, 2 heroes remoeved, 1 new hero added, 2 heroes adjusted.

My question to you guys: Did the design improve?

Do it!

And make sure to put your little dashy pattern through all your typo.

Dashy pattern maybe in title, but not in the names I think. It would probably hurt legibility, I'm afraid...

Shame people couldn't make it out - that's an awesome shirt.

I think it's actually the colour scheme that's making it a little hard to read, though - maybe try a more legible combination of colours.

Amazing characters and style though - I say try again.

Hmmm, thats an interestion point you make, 13strong.
I really like blaring colours in general, but in this design that could be hurting the legibility as you said. I'll try a few different ones. Maybe black type is easier to read. The shirt a superheroe blue, for instance.

Thank you very much for your thoughts!

Thank you roadkill3d

andvantage of blue one is that it is just 2 colours, easy to print, and making it a cheap shirt.

i am still in love with your original -

so I do not prefer the blue -

or the additional title

so I am no help - accept to say the original sub is awesome

Thanks for commenting, Isaboa and wotto!

Capisce, I liked it the first time around too. But it did only score half decent back then.
Resubmitting it as it was is not an option (not here, that is), so if I resubmit, better alter the things that bugged people in the first version....
I'll keep the red as main and blue as alternative.

I'll give it just the last chance here, then at least I've tried, and if the heroes don't get picked up here, they can always travel.

I think it's definitely worth resubmitting... it couldn't do any harm and it still looks awesome. I think the title might be the missing ingredient for some voters, as it solidifies the concept.

In a perfect, alternate universe this shirt was already printed!

all the way back in april

Most of the shirts I posted have subsequently been printed, so perhaps there's still hope. Maybe the blog is a magical oracle of some kind. :P

Oh, I remember this one! I really liked the original too - the handdrawn text had tons more charm than the new type, and I thought it looked better light rather than dark. The new title is okay, but I don't know if that's enough of a change for a resub. I honestly don't know what I would change either - the first version was great!

I guess if you really wanted to resub, I would think about making the composition radically different. Maybe like a comic book cover or some kind of z-list superfriends-like group portrait. Or find a way to have them occupy the same space, hanging out together or something. Though it's hard to say if this would improve the already awesome design or muddle it up even more.

Hehe, thanks opifan, I saw that blog back in the day and almost thought I was hallucinating, untill I found out you were taking the mickey. That spoiler series was great by the way, every week more outlandish. Had me in stitches.

Looks like the best thing I can do for this one is to add the title, go back to the handdrawn font, but redraw the names in a more legible way.
If design is too similar and doesn't get approved, I'll cry a little, light a torch, sub it elsewhere, and move on.
Or maybe submit it elsewhere straight away?

Thanks for yer time folks!

I thought the original type was perfectly legible... but i guess i have special type reading powers (hey, i'm a z-list superhero!) anyway, keep us posted if you sub somewhere else so we can vote it up.

I too thought the original was spot on. Although I do love the addition of Mr. Roadkill Prevention.

A few backups didn't even make the z-list: mr bogroll handout man, undo-man, lost file retriever, doodle meister and car key-finder, just to mention a few.
