Oh dear.

about Haikus Are Easy, But Sometimes...

I think everyone who buys shirts from Threadless realizes that many to most people will not get the joke or the jist of the shirts. Sometimes you have to have a certain kind of humour to get Threadless shirts, and I'm okay with that.
But I didn't think I would have to explain THIS one! Everyone's heard of Haikus, right? Maybe they wouldn't remember exactly how to make one, but they'd read it, make a connection that it's a haiku about a haiku, laugh, and leave me alone.
Nope.
I spent about 15 minutes in every one of my classes yesterday attempting to explain what a 'hukoo' was. It was depressing.

Whenever someone asks me what my shirts mean/what is the central idea about them, I always say 'sex' and they leave me alone.

Although, I do want to say that the other week in English class we were doing haiku's, and everyone knew what they were, so that was pleasing, to me at least.

I had the same problem and was pretty surprised. My dad and one of my mom's best friends had no clue what a haiku was. That's pretty sad.

people that don't know what a haiku is can just be confused about the meaning of the design!

i'm sure that there are plenty of other things don't know... :p

Even if they don't know what a haiku is, the refrigerator bit should be funny enough.

I'm a Japanese major, and when I saw this I had to get it. Though it is sad that most people don't know what a haiku is... Especially knowing that you generally start learning about them in elementary/middle school.
