Nice flute.
I would just like to mention to the world that contrary to popular belief, holding a flute like that is mental and suicidal. After holding an actual flute the realization will hit you that no one can possibly hold a flute up like that and hit the keys at the same time as balancing it against the mouth.

Nothing against this chick - and it's a great shirt! But I had to satiate my pet peeve. :D

Perhaps flutists are "rude", but at least we're RIGHT.

who cares? she's obviously not a flute player so why should she hold it right? it's a common mistake for people who don't know better. stop being self-righteous know-it-all snobs. i personally really like that she's holding it wrong, and i've been playing flute for 7 years.

Hmm.. not the response I thought I'd get.... I think I mentioned that I have nothing against the great shirt or the girl herself. And mentioning that she's holding it wrong isn't rude, it's critical. And musicians are stereotypically critical. So it all works out in the end! Yay!



As an aside: I believe both flautist and flutist are acceptable.

And the flute should only be held parallel for visual appeal on the band field. In a concert setting, one should angle it down slightly and tilt the head. Holding it parallel all of the time can lead to injury in the long term.
