Wow it's here. I'm glad they did a big print.

This, I must say is a product of coffee, insomnia and a triggered imagination of endless staring at Sandro Botticelli's masterpiece (obviously) one boring evening accompanied by slight substance abuse. Well not really. I'm afraid I'm not capable of that kind of cool.

Anyways, too many people to thank so e-hugs to all & e-beers on the house.

Enjoy these versions similarly inspired by the painting.

I think it's perfect.
Th way the doctors on the left (angels) and right mimic the other characters in the painting (oh, my professor who took me through the Uffizi would KILL me for not remembering!), pretty much down to the hand positions of the doctor on the left to the woman trying to cover Venus.
I also think that the Medicis would want her to fit the standards of beauty of this time, just as they did then (why Venus is blonder in an Italian home, for one); so had they commissioned it today, she'd have to have all of those changes made.
It's perfect! Bravo!

This was the first Threadless tee I *HAD* to have. Ties together my love of art history and indignance about contemporary beauty standards...Not to mention it's supremely gorgeous!
The fact that I can proudly say it's by a pinoy makes it even better =)
