Hey,

at the moment Threadless only offers one method for international shipping and that is the DHL Globalmail Standard International Shipping Parcel.

* Standard International Shipping (9 to 36 business days)

Now - it does NOT have tracking capilities and does usually take a few weaks (not to mention it gets often lost..).

Well - but they have another better quality service which threadless really should offer in my opinion:

* Expedited International Shipping (6 to 22 business days)

The cost does increase for like 10-15% (if im correctly).
But it is really FAST (my last items took only 4 days from the usa to germany) AND it does have TRACKING capilities (which i believe is nescessary for good international order-support).

i think threadless have looked into it, but said something about it increasing the shipping costs dramatically? i dunno. i would love to have tracking though, especially since customs in southern africa can be dodgy.

increasing the shipping costs dramatically ?

As i've read companys can espacially cooperate with dhl - shouldn't that decrease the costs uhm?

Also I didn't mean they should replace the standard shipping with the expedited one.

They should just add it as an option for anyone willing to pay a bit more for more safety and speed (like me).

I thought they use USPS? my parcel always arrives within 1 week with USPS. When they use DHL, it took 3 weeks, and when they start using UPS, it never arrived.

I suppose they could always give the option. Personally I'm pretty happy with the service they offer now, they always seem to get here (England) within a week. That's not too bad.

I find DHL pretty good as none of my orders have take 3 weeks.

I dont know. The last time I email them, they said that they dont do delivery to houses. Instead, they use local post to deliver international mail (which i completly dont understand). So it was like:

US DHL - Local DHL - Local post - me

compare with usps:

USPS - Local post - me

I like USPS better

We are exploring our options for international shipping. We ship out of Chicago and Chicago has the nations worst postal system. You don't want us to use USPS we've been there and it was nothing but trouble.

Well DHL is really bad too (well the german post is even worse...) - so far my first threadless order hasn't arrived yet (10 days) lets see if it will arrive or be lost ...

I am pretty happy with the DHL delivery but i wouldnt mind an express option for those times that i want my tees in a hurry.

DHL has always had a bad rep, as did there previous incarnation of Airborne, stateside. But for some reason it is quite common for international shipping. Hell even my world cup tickets were send via DHL.

And how could chicago have the nations "worst" postal system when its a national one? In my ebay experience USPS and USP are both pretty reliable, with USPS being cheaper but no tracking.

Gotta say, I haven't had any problems with DHL, 1-3 weeks is not too bad from Chicago to Melbourne and on the whole my deliveries have always arrived inside two. Most importantly I've never had anything disappear completely (which in my mind is far and away the most important thing).

Audiovore: The bottom line is that a postal service (like any national industry) will vary in quality from location to location so while the US may nominally have a national postal system it's quality in Chicago may be sub-par. Give Threadless a break.

I've received Threadless shipping via Airborne and DHL, and I prefer DHL. At least the package doesn't look like its been ripped apart.

I guess my expectations of delivery times isn't as high, I usually get my orders after 12 days from the time it is mailed out, and it doesn't really bother me. Another reason why I like DHL better, is the customs office can't really rip the package apart, only scan it.

I wouldn't mind an express option either...I actually make a decision not to order if I know I'm travelling for work in a fortnight's time, because of the delivery times, and if that means I miss out on a t-shirt, I guess that's that. At least I saved some cash, well until I get back and decide to buy some more Threadless kit :).

I get my international stuff delivered to work anyway. Means there's always someone there to sign for it and someone who'll be accountable if it disappears.

Yeah I get it mainly delivered to work too. But parcels have dissapeared from reception from time to time, so yeah I like to be in town when it arrives.

i do the work delivery thing too, stuff gets ripped off from my mailbox/doorstep.

Bummer. I'm yet to have that happen to me. Maybe I'll learn my lesson soon but until then. . .

god bless me that i'm living in a good area and the mailmain isnt allowed to place the stuff in front of the door usually - only let a ticket there which you can use to get your packet from our local post office ...

well still ... i'm not really trusting our local post anyway.

All of my six orders so far have been delivered without problems. So, for me DHL is just fine. And BTW, the more shirts you order the bigger the packages are and the bigger the packages are the longer shipment will take. E.g., an order of ten or eleven shirts took about 30 days to Germany, two shirts just took about 8 days.

But I definitely second "Expedited International Shipping" as an additional shipping method... it's all about choice :-)

i have never had trouble with my orders. they do sometimes take a bit longer to arrive during sales due to high demand but other than it's all good.

i'm happy with DHL atm. I really don't care to pay 15% more to receive my tees a couple of days early.

I never had a problem with DHL (it takes one week to arrive from US to France) but sadly I was stolen 2 shirts when they were in the mailbox and I wasn't at home for 2 days :(

I made an order back june. It hasn't arrived yet.

Threadless sent a replacement order last month, and it also hasn't arrived yet.

Maybe the Pacific ocean is eating all the shirts.

the post office guy now knows me and recognizes my voice everytime I call him because I always bug them, asking if the shirts have arrived already. XD

I think DHL works great! It takes one week from sending till delivery from Threadless to the Netherlands. 'That's pretty fast! And I can be patient. I can wait a couple days longer because it's worth it every time I order some great T's!

Mhm does anyone living in germany had any problems with the customs duty on any threadless order they madeor something?

I somehow have the feeling that it won't make it trought :/ or sth. like that

i'm actually pretty satisfied with DHL. i'm not saying it wont be nicer to get a faster service but i usually get my packages 10-14 days wich is fine with me altough i had one order lost and that really sucks...
Neon Samurai
Neon Samurai on Sep 12 '07 at 4:29am
I'm now really worried. I've never had an order go astray before but I put a big one in during the sale and it'd suck if it didn't arrive.

btw do the recent men t-shirts shrink a bit, a lot or not? (considering the instructions ofc)

because S fits perfectly, and M is a bit of baggy on the lower sides but sits just as good as S
