Hello everyone again. :) Here's the process blog of a collab design I've been working on since the beginning of May, again with the great buko aka Enkel. Hope you guys enjoy our second collab!

01. Concept
My initial idea involved what I imagined to be a surrealistic deer with a chandelier for antlers. I wanted candles on the antler chandelier to actually light up, and my first sketch actually had a girl leading the deer while lighting a candle, blah blah. (sketch on the left) After some discussion with Enkel, he came up with a variation utilizing ~*glow inks*~ (I think this was about the time where Threadless announced the new glows), and we agreed to go with that one. His concept sketch is on the right!



02. Sketch
Enkel's first version of the lineart.


03. Composition
I made some composition adjustments and redrew certain parts, like the deer and bird...


04. Lineart
Enkel combines my changes with his new lineart; we do some final fixing such as the deer's hooves, and Enkel adds some extra details, here's the result...



05. Coloring
After a few initial color sketches, I paint in the colors for the regular ink version...



06. GLOW!
Then I sketch out the first version of the glow ink design...


Enkel takes my sketch and gives it more realistic-looking reflections:


** Oh, and I double-checked with speedy joe already, and he assures me this type of glow ink printing is possible for Threadless, so no worries there!


07. Finishing Touches...
Some minor tweaks after, and here are the pretty-much-final versions of the daytime and glow versions!






08. Submission

Extra thanks to spacesick for coming up with our current clever title: Grande Elusion. We're not 100% going with it just yet, but it's the best name I've heard so far, so if any of you lovely bloggers can come up with something better before we sub, we're gonna go with Mitch. :)

For the record, Enkel and I exchanged 52 emails on the subject of this design. ;D
