Threadless fears that the awesomeness from these printing would blow up the Internet

FM would do so much better for himself if he did the 365 project designs on his own site. Sell em like glennz. Then save the real quality stuff for subbing on threadless. One day isnt much time to produce something quality imo, assuming you have a day job.

FM has created some amazing stuff in one day.

I really hope he gets back to this.

This news brings me much disappointment, but he accomplished WAAAAAAAAAAAAAY more than I ever thought he would before getting tired with it

also I agree with SuperRyan that how good a design is doesn't always have to do with how much time you spend on it, and FM has made some crazy good stuff in just one day

I don't think all the FM365 designs deserve to be printed, not at all. Some of them are clearly look like they've been done in a day - but it is so impressive that FM has managed to create a quality sub- maybe not a genius sub, but a quality one - every day since he announced the project.

I definitely think there are (AT THE VERY LEAST) 4 or 5 amongst the nearly 100 he's submitted that are above the norm, that are beautifully executed and/or clever, and on top of it are extremely printable and sell-able. If JOB really is the only one that's been chosen, I think that is extremely strange and could see why FM would tire of the project...

Im not saying he hasnt guys. But look at when he won designer of the year (what was that, 2007?). How many prints did he have that year? And he was subbing like once a week. Compare that to now..1 for 85? I dunno, I think I would rather get paid. He has fans so I dont see why not start a site.

On the other hand, he could sub them all here, get a bead on their popularity and a fanbase aching for them, impress the hell out of us, and make a couple grand in the process.

Then, the ones that were both awesome and passed over (which will be a solid number) can be printed at his own site. It'd be a never-ending wealth of great designs.

The fact is, the average small-time print shop is going to take a much longer time to score $2000 than Threadless is. You don't do a blitzkrieg style creation schedule if you don't truly love creating, and if you don't realize that a lot of your work will go unprinted. And while it's ludicrous if truly nothing else from the project has been selected yet ("Job" is solid, but not even close to the top 10 so far to me), posting them for scoring here has a three-fold benefit. He runs the chance of a cool, fast two grand if he prints here, gets a huge amount of critiques and opinions to see how to hone pieces later and which pieces would sell best for him, and has a fanbase desiring the tees he doesn't get printed here. The latter can only help him move all the more shirts compared to if they all went straight to his personal store.

So I hope he continues to wow us here. And I hope Threadless wises up and selects more of his pieces.

I don't think he actually gave up? His flickr still has a new design for each day this past week.

I'm positive more prints will come. Since Threadless knows he's submitting a design every day (or was) it's smart for them to lay back and wait a bit in order to gauge the entire collection - or at least a large number - so they can cherry pick the strongest designs from the largest possible group.

I think he might just be subbing all of them once a week. He mentioned something like that a little while ago. Or maybe he is subbing somewhere else. either way he is a machine and is still cranking them out.

It's kind of crazy, FM should have around 5 designs printed from his 365 project by now. And i don't say that because he has embarked on one of the most impressive artistic projects I have ever seen, but because the products of this project deserve it. Here's hoping a few more prints come out of this project, whether he continues it or not.

I really do look forward to seeing what he comes up with from day to day, so I've been bummed to not get that happy feeling recently. Where are you FM??

He hasn't actually submitted any designs since the end of April. :(

Yeah, the backlog is definitely holding things up... I subbed something on Saturday and it's still 300 away. I'm sure he must have something in the queue too!
