So, I've been scoring a lot of designs these last few days and reading tons of comments. I keep seeing the same thing over and over. People keep suggesting ways that the design could be improved, and the designer says something like, "that would be easy to fix" or "I'll try that". I thought I read somewhere in the "rules" that you can't re-submit a design, or change it after you submit it. But people are talking about changing subs all the time. I can't find the place where I read this now, so I'm wondering.....

Did I simply have a bad dream about this rule? Or is it there and I'm misinterpreting it?

Sorry about all the grammatical errors here. My vision is still suffering after working with my design for so many hours. I guess I pushed myself right over the edge to presbyopia :( See above photo of me looking like your great aunt peering over her glasses. Actually, that picture was a total camera accident. I was trying to change a setting and it went off in my face. Happy accident.

And I'm tired.... and a bit depressed because my design seems to be lost in the shuffle and most of the friends I emailed about it wrote back and said ,"They wouldn't let me score it without signing up!" So it's up to you guys to help me get a decent score, or get my design booted. Either way, it pains me to come back here every hour and see that nothing has changed.

Thanks for listening to my whining.

it's true, it's frowned upon to resubmit an idea. telling someone to fix something in a comment on a sub is kind of a waste of time, except that it does explain to th designer why their score suffered, and that's always good to know. some of the advice on one design can be applied to an entirely different design. every little bit helps us learn and improve so it's good to hear peoples criticisms.

don't feel too bad if your design doesn't fly. just keep trying.

Thanks. It didn't get shut down in the first 24 hours, so I already consider it a success. If it just manages to finish out the week, I'll be happy.

Can anyone point me to where the re-submit rule is?

it's on the Submit page, under the Declines tab.

"Duplicate Submissions

Please only submit your design once and do not submit additional submissions for changes in color, size or placement. Designs changed slightly based on comments will still be treated as duplicates. If the concept didn't go over well the first time around, just try something new. "

All about me

Hi. I'm old. But I'm cool.

I make websites for a living. It's the best job in the world.

I love Threadless shirts. I got a shirt at the Shoebox Tour show with Jay Gilligan, Marcus Monroe, Erik Aberg and friends in Chicago. I had no idea that Marcus was famous.

My first Threadless shirt was free. So I felt guilty and bought more. Then I felt guilty because I got them on sale, so I submitted a design.

I've given hours of my life to Threadless now. So I won't feel guilty if they have another sale, because I have at least 6 shirts waiting in my shopping cart.
