I'm not sure if it's just that the product picture is edited to look brighter,
but I just got this in, & most of the inks look about the same. =/
the books are such a dark brown that they almost completely blend into the background. also, the pages don't look nearly as white as the photo...
that's not to say you cannot see it at all,
but it just seems like it shouldn't be this dark.

anyone else having this problem
or are the real shirts supposed to be like this?

All I can tell you without having the t-shirt is that the light reflecting off the white ink is bound to have an effect on how the white represents in the photo.

I want to buy the reprint as well, but now I'm a bit careful ..

It isn't just the white though.
All of the books blend into the background..
I even looked at gallery photos, & they all seem to make it look brighter.

I just took a photo of it, but the camera made it seem much brighter than it is in person. =/ I don't see the point in posting it then.

I don't know. It just seems like they used a minimal amount of ink or something. Like they just recycled the same brown color.

Did you use flash? Maybe you could take a photo without using the flash... it might be more accurate... I'm worried about buying it now, too!

I know what you mean. I just got mine today and I thought the same thing. It's still a great shirt, but it looks different from the pictures, not as much contrast. :/

Agreed. I got mine today and I was really excited, but it doesn't look anything like the clean, crisp picture. :(

Could one of you who find their colors to be darker than they thought maybe take a picture of their shirt? Cause I'm considering buying as well, but this blog worries me a bit.

I agree, I bought the reprint and it definitely seems to blend into the background more than in the pics.

Ah, I see ...

the letters look a LOT darker than on the design page (they're supposed to be a light brown, but they're almost black on your shirt), and overall the design looks much darker, and somehow ... colder? Hm.
