When you submit a design to Threadless, you have to check the "I agree to the terms and conditions" box. Among the terms and conditions, you agree to make the design exclusive to Threadless for 90 days.
I'm often seeing designs up for scoring on Threadless and other sites at the same time... so, is it acceptable or not?

yeh, but it could be a design that finished whatever time-limit another site set for restrictions and still be subbed here

just like a lot of artists sub to other sites in order to make a little money after their 90 days is up

it is a little tasteless to not pull it from one before submitting to another, but not everyone is business minded like that

Thanks for that, the submission now stands as an advert for a Tshirt you can buy on Lafraise.
As I understand it, you're not allowed to sub a design here that is up for voting elsewhere but quite a few people seem to get away with it.

if it's after a certain time period like chelly mentioned, then i think it's fine as well. but when they're simultaneously in the running, then that doesn't seem right. i think it's usually in those cases that the individual is caught, because otherwise the design would be buried back in the submissions.

Yup, it's a way to majorly piss off Threadless and if they weren't cool about it, they could easily sue some folks, but i'd only see that if Threadless decided to print the design and then found out it had already been shipped and sold at some other major retailer or website.

Whenever I have wanted to use my designs elsewhere before the 90 days is up (and I have over 90 of them across 3 id's), I just e-mail Threadless and ask to release them and they say no problem.

To do otherwise is asking for trouble should they ever want to print you.

the point is you asked. Asking nicely is always the best policy, but not everyone abides by that.

Once the 90 days is up, is it fine to submit somewhere else, or do you still need to mail them?

that's all assuming that you submit to threadless first
threadless has no control over the copyright deadlines elsewhere

I haven't submitted any photos. I guess I don't want free money.
