A Good Day

Yeah, been a while since I submitted, but here are some new ones. I guess didn't learn my lesson, but this 10K challenge is ridiculous, so I had to submit some ideas that have been floating around in my sketchbook(s).

First one up.

So weird, just saw another cookie monster sub with the keebler elves, a batman submission. Those are pop images but are protected by parody.

Lucas' lawyers must have Threadless under a microscope ever since Midnight in the Garden (?), Glennz's famous illo.

it's all good, I know lucas is watching threadless after glennz's old sub, so they don't even want to chance it.

but a zombie stormtrooper doing the mj thriller dance is a parody of thriller and of star wars. please tell me by the definition of a parody how this isn't? but as stated, threadless doesn't want to mess with star wars lawyers, b/c they have the force and billions of $$$ behind them.

I don't understand the copyright crap with star wars designs... seems like theres always a couple of them being voted on at any given time, yet this was declined? Why accept some and not others... I understand parody but even those get removed from the site by the the Lucas team after a short while.

Man, even the frenchies denied it b/c of the blood etc! Funny b/c they have a stormtrooper surfing on the second page of their current submissions.

Craziness. Still bummed though b/c I set aside time to work on this just for Threadless, just for you Threadless! Do you hear me, Threadless?! You're like a girlfriend that keeps tearing me a part but I keep going back for... hmmm why, why do I keep coming back?

Are you referring to the new tee that just came out?

We took a huuuge risk with that one, even had to change the name. The only reason that's sort of OK and this one isn't, is...it's not an actual image of a stormtrooper, it's just some "splotches that remind you of one."
