Are they?
This one doesn't have those flared sleeves...
Sams one also looked more fitted.
I'm happy if they are.
This is an awesome design btw

For what it's worth I my mens small FOTL from Threadless fits better than my mens small AA from CafePress. Not sure this is comparing apples to apples, but that's my experience between the two.

It think the best part of this thread is seeing the response from threadless. Thanks for showing you are paying attention and care what's going on here!

Gildan aren't that great. They are pretty rough feeling (almost worse than the FOTL) and are soo damn hot. They seem to be almost 2-ply! Lol. You could honestly wear them out in the snow and not be cold.

I'm just one person...but I got my first threadless shirt the other day and will not be buying any more unless they start printing on ANYTHING but FOTL.

My shirt fits like crap!

I just checked all of the nice shirts I have from other companies....every single one is AA, except for two which are Gildan and the best which is alternative apparel.

The Gildan cotton blend sucks, but the ultra blend is pretty good, definitely better than FOTL

IMO threadless probably got a lot of complaints about AA because of the bizarre fit and unpredictable shrinkage. I got an AA in small from a different site and it was skin tight, I went up a size and it still makes me look like i have fat tits (i'm a skinny but barrel chested guy). Also AA shirts are also super long and too close in the armpits, they seem designed for some mens' equivalent of kate moss. They do look very good on some guys though, and the cotton is super nice.

Fruit of the Loom on the other hand is closer to the actual given sizing (medium is actually medium, etc.) even though they are too long and a little rough. I think FOTL was just a compromise. I do think Threadless should look into different suppliers though because the awkward fit of FOTL prevents me from buying more shirts. I liked the supplier they had before, when the shirts still had tags and when "Follow_It" had just come out, I still have that shirt from 2.5 years ago and it's holding up great.

What would a month be without a blog about AA/FOTL?

If there were a hilite reel of this blog, JOHN2's comments would be in every frame.

One of my AA shirts is a little twisted in the stitching, and it confuses the hell out of me every time I try to fold it.

personally, I think that all Threadless shirts should be printed on those wicked cool hyper-colour shirts!

Cody, I agree!

johns comments were great but as to AA .. the shrinkage is awful .. I got rained on and it shrunk ON me .... not the coolest way to be plus theirs tend to fit a bit tighter and I dont always want to be showing off my hot (and chubby) bod

AA are decidely more fitted and are for the more body-conscious/thinner consumer. You can't even begin to compare between the two fits of AA and FOTL - apples and oranges... Ever since I realized that all my favorite shirts were printed on AA (before the blow-up and hype a couple years back) I began seeking shirts solely on AA blanks.

Regarding the "twisting" problem, I've found that some of the older blanks had a two-piece body design (seams run from armpit to the hem) but rarely have not had that issue with newer one-piece shirts.

I have broken down and bought 3 t's from Threadless b/c the designs were hot, each time hoping that somehow I could deal w/ the fit but they just now sit at the bottom of a drawer unworn. With the summers you have in NYC, how can you stand to wear the 50/50 FOTL blend? The darn things just make me sweat!

On a final positive note, I am excited that Threadless has started their "select" line but am not too enthusiastic about the price. I of course do understand this is a business and a certain profit margin needs to be made, but I think a $20 tee might encourage more people to buy and make it a more viable path for you guys to take. Thanks for listening and I hope to see more designs available on AA. Peace.

i have so many Girly Small shirts and it seems like they're getting longer and wider each time i receive one in the mail! i find it so weird that certain colours will have a better fit.. ie. when i first started buying, the teal ones fit my tiny body amazingly..now i've gotten navy blues, greys, and its all weird. today i got mama's boy and it's longer than the black shirt i bought in a medium!

it sounds like AA is better in quality or at least size (although i do have 1 AA shirt that got holes right away in the sleeve) but the margin of error problem is still hard to control. and frankly that sucks, cause not everybody is the average these mistakes.

i'm considering shrinking my natural colour shirt in the dryer, but afraid of what may happen....

I hate AA. I just need to mention that on every blog. Right on, Shondi for knowing what's down.

AA shirts are awesome. They fit amazingly well, are soft, and look damn good. I'm actually a little surprised that no one is addressing the ethical dimensions to this argument. I for one have only bought sweatshop-free clothes for years and my impression was that FOTL was still being made under what I would consider "unethical" conditions. I don't want to get into a debate about the ethics/economics of textile manufacturing but unless there are other companies that fit as well, look and feel as good AND are made in "ethical" conditions, I would like to see more designs printed on AA shirts.
