I was wonder how to make an outline on letters that makes it look as though the letters were stitched on? I am working on a design where the letters look like they are made of twill. If anyone can help me or if you can point to a tutorial that would be awesome.

Program: Coreldraw x3 or Adobe Illustrator CS3.

What I would do:

overlay with a light blue

Print - hand draw the stitching on the printout

scan in -

select out your stitching

and tada -

but this is probably not the best way to do it -

you could always create a custom brush in illustrator and apply it to the edge paths of your font or artwork
