Runner carries injured foe half mile to help in middle of race

"I didn't think about my race, I knew I needed to stop and help him," Ripley said in the school district release. "It was something I would expect my other teammates to do. I'm nothing special; I was just in the right place at the right time."

After dropping Paulauskas off with his coaches, Ripley proceeded to go back and finish the race -- even after carrying a kid for a half mile on the running trail. Admittedly he was a bit winded, but still completed the course as scheduled.

That's pretty darn cool. I'm glad kids like that still exist.

I can't say I'd have done the same in that scenario, mainly because running is my least favorite thing. I would have called for help though.

This happen in college softball game a few years ago. A girl hit a homer and broke her ankle rounding 1st. If one of here teammates helped her she would be out, so the pitcher and first basemen carrier her around the bases.

this happened years ago in a boxing contest.

evander holyfield learned that mike tyson was down on his luck financially and couldn't afford groceries so he offered up his own ear!
