The whole roasted chicken was definitely the best. It was immaculate. I have a picture on Facebook that's not that great. But man. It was delicious. I think Brian ate his weight in chicken that night.

Sweet potato soup? Oh snap, that sounds delicious. Griff is also a fan of the whole roasted chicken. My family's taken to simply calling it "Griff's chicken."

They tasted alright, but they weren't very pretty. I flavored them with pumpkin pie spice, and was going to make a pumpkin creme filling, but I took them to Thanksgiving at Brian's dad's, and apparently dairy desserts aren't kosher, so they had no filling.

So really they were just cookies made with a macaron recipe, and looking nothing like macarons.

Rosemary lamb chop, roasted rutabaga (which would have been delicious if we hadn't gotten impatient and pulled them out of the oven so soon) and asiago mashed potatoes:

Fun fact: I've never had a macaron.
WarDrobeInSpareOom
WarDrobeInSpareOom on Jan 10 '12 at 1:47pm
I never had either, Alvin! But they're made with almond meal/flour, so it's a naturally gluten-free dessert option, which is neat.

I've had meringue cookies, which are like macarons...?
tracerbullet
   tracerbullet on Jan 10 '12 at 2:03pm
nah, meringues are just egg whites and sugar. macarons are a bit different, though the concept is similar.

They're duchess potatoes, which means you mix egg yolks into mashed potatoes and then bake them.

So we both forgot to take pictures, but on Friday, I made sauteed beef, which was tasty but a little tough, and together we made baked macaroni and cheese, which was deeeeelicious. On Saturday, Brian made sauteed Swiss chard, roasted beets (that we didn't end up eating), and amazing pan roasted chicken breasts that had marinated for 24 hours in a dry rub.
