Threadless Custom vs. American Apparel - sizing and shrinking?
Alright, I haven't ordered from threadless in a while (not since they converted a lot of designs to custom threadless tees from american apparel tees) and I am now really unsure what size to get.

An american apparel girly small (Lions Are Smarter Than I Am-my fave, The Average Bear, No Repeats) was the perfect size for me AFTER shrinking. While I wouldn't have minded if it shrunk a teeny bit less, it was definitely too big before shrinking.

Now I am really unsure if I need a threadless girly small or xs in this tee. ?? ... especially when considering how much they shrink in comparison to the aa tees, which I know shrink a lot...

Help anyone? Thanks :)

I generally think that the fit of the girly threadless tees, is the same as the American Apparel, just, the material is a little bit tighter, and the tees are longer.

On the shrinking thing though, none of my shirts shrink soo I wouldn't know, but I would guess it'd be the same.

Threadless shirts basicly should never even see a dryer. My first Dark Side Of The Garden shrunk so much in the dryer (on low like the tag says) and bunched the collar I ended up giving it to a smaller friend and re-ordered it.

I agree with skeev--I machine wash my Threadless shirts in cold water, then just lay them flat to dry. Shrinking is pretty minimal that way, and they seem to stretch back to their original size after I wear them again.

As for your size dilemma, I do feel that the Threadless tees fit a bit narrower than the AA ones, perhaps since they are longer. I would go with a small if I were you, especially if you have hips.

I just got my X-Small in the mail and it seems to be bigger than my other Small shirts. I figured since the sizing chart claimed it was an inch smaller, I would try it out. "Training" might have been an American Apparel shirt though...I'm off to check before throwing this one through the dryer.

alright, thanks folks! I decided to go with a small and will report back with my results ;)

this is the first time I'm buying a threadless item full price... but I've been waiting on this reprint... so let's hope for the best ;)

FYI: Mine shrunk a lot. It's only a little bit smaller than my small now. :)

They shrink a lot. Mine came big and shrunk to the right size, but the length is a little short.
