I'm sure to get flamed for this but they can piss off. If you disagree with me and just want to insult me, dont waste your time. If you disagree and want to discuss it, please, lets. More importantly, if I'm not alone Id like to know it. I'm just wondering how out of touch I am.
Is anyone else tired of the retro-kitsch, fauve, ugly-ass, poorly drawn hipster tripe that keeps getting submitted and more disturbingly printed on this site? I haven't wanted to buy any but maybe 3 or 4 shirts in the last two years. I have been on and off the site since 04 and have watched the trends. Way back when it used to be clever animal prints all over the place now its trendy retro crap. I'm sure to get bitched at for not participating enough, or for my past submissions yadda yadda. I have a life that keeps me off the computer most of the time. But I also love the site and the talent and creativity that the community stands for even if I dont particularly care for all of it. So tell me, am I alone?

can I get an example of hipster garbage?

cause I am not hip to the hipster look and maybe if I get in the know with the trendy retro crap maybe I can be a force for change and good in a swirling sea of sewage and trendy tripe.

feel me bro?

can you post an example of what you consider "retro-kitsch, fauve, ugly-ass, poorly drawn hipster tripe"?

Asking for examples is a trap because what I am asking is totally subjective. If you dont know what I am talking about then you obviously do not agree which is fine. but here to clear up confusion...

Retro - A prefix or combining form signifying backward, back; as, retroact, to act backward; retrospect, a looking back. (Webster's)

kitsch--Art using popular culture icons, mass-produced objects; means "worthless" in German. (artsnet)

Hipster - In the 1990s and 2000s, the 1940s slang term hipster began being used in North American to describe young, well-educated urban middle class and upper class adults with leftist or liberal social and political views and interests in a non-mainstream fashion and cultural aesthetic.
- a person who is interested in the latest trends or fashions
- a member of Bohemian counterculture

And to draylock. I was merely stating that the overwhelming theme of the submissions was clever, animal prints, I wasn't waxing nostalgic.

That's what I say anytime any body asks me to prove something. Ha! You think I'll fall for the ol' evidence trap do you?! THink again!!!!!

And also, sometimes I feel like everyone is trying to do the same thing on here. But you can't change it. Fads come and go, people follow the trends... oh well.

how can a person who has "interests in a non-mainstream fashion and cultural aesthetic" also be "interested in the latest trends or fashions?"

this hipster thing sounds confusing. i must not be one then.

You can at least show us an example of you think is a poorly drawn sub, or at least let us know if it's something that's been proven.

Maybe you can't "prove" your point but we could discuss a particular sub.

Also off the front page, "Graphite for Your Right" and "Crime!!!" im my opinion fit the retro poorly drawn hipster aesthetic, though I admit I like the "Graphite" political poster look even if I dont care for the shirt.
