anyone else really frustrated with school projects/designs right now?

because I certainly am.

I am an interior design major, and our project right now is ridiculous. smallest little space ever, and fitting everything into it has proven nearly impossible. and just to make it more difficult, my professor added all these other parameters that aren't on the assignment sheet.

Not school-related but I am getting frustrated at not being able to sing while playing the guitar.

And I need to find a job.

But yeah, it's only the second week of this quarter so there isn't really anything big happening.

mype4nut: the space is 18X18!!!! tiniest thing ever...baaaaah totally lame.

I think I have some space plans that are at least starting to work...well enough to get a crit next week anyway.

it's only the second week for me, too! silliness.

i got put on the design team for a new church we are starting. It wouldn't be that frustrating if the other team members weren't "moms" wanting to faux finish all the walls and stencil stuff everywhere. Oh did i mention we have zero budget? It should be interesting our next meeting is tonight.

I once had to design a three-story art gallery to fit into an alley between two buildings. The alley was only 5'9" wide. Holy Fuck.

i have 3 different studio classes that i have projects for plus 2 other classes i have readings for all the time. eep.

whaat? where did you put the stairs? hah--the stairs are what's driving everyone nuts. They take up so much space :P

I only have two studio classes right now, thank goodness...but i have a lo of non-studio classes also. with lots of reading/outside work.

I know! They allowed us 4" thick walls to make it a bit easier. And oops, I meant 6'9"! Otherwise, you're right, stairs would have been impossible.

that's a pretty challenging project. this is only our first interior studio class...so it's not really supposed to be that hard yet...but man. whoda thunk?

the fact that this is difficult gives me comfort that this will actually make for a stimulating and worthwhile career, though.
