WTF Mate?

about Robot Dance Contest

I've been waiting for almost a year for this shirt to be reprinted. I was so excited to get the email notification that I went straight to threadless ready to slap down the cash only to find the shirt is now PURPLE!

The blue shirt rocks my world, this new purple one I wouldn't even be able to wear to my own mailbox. So disappointed; I guess I'll have to wait another year 'till it's released in hot pink, or lime green, maybe tie-dyed....

Addendum:

Clearly mine is the minority view, and I guess according to everyone on threadless, all shirts henceforth should be printed on purple. That's fine, everyone entitled to their own opinion, except according to you guys, me.

That being said, seriously; what in the hell is up with the personal remarks? Half of you think I'm in the closet, the other half think I'm a homophobe. It's possible that I don't want to look half gay walking down the street, then again maybe purples clash with my skin tone. I'm guessing whatever motive you ascribe to me says more about your prejudices then mine.
Just think about this logically; a gay guy being extra picky about color is what you'd expect from a flamer, not someone in the closet. So imagine me as gay or not, but saying I'm in the closet makes no sense at all.
As for being a homophobe, isn't the hipster/indy/emo thing all about being an individual, and wearing whatever you like, and being yourself? I guess not when who you are is too 'normal.'

Sheesh! What a bunch of hypocrites, all of you (well, most of you).

I don't mind purple shirts too much. I would buy and have bought some on purple, but this design looked better on the original blue. But variety is the spice of life!

i agree about the problem with the purple shirt. i always scower my email looking for reprint notifications. when i saw it was robot dance contest i was excited, but upon following the link i saw a purple shirt.... i thought to my self, "i never wanted a purple shirt?!" i dont think it is really fair. i waited a long time for anohter shirt to get reprinted (flowers in the attic" and some of the colors were changed from red to pink. bummer. i think that when it is reprinted, it should be re done the same way. i have always felt that threadless is an outstanding community with fantastic shirts, but they have always been limited by the color of the shirts. there have been many great shirts i would have loved to buy, but was totally not in favor of the color. i know threadless said that they were working on that, but all ive seen is that they changed t shirt suppliers, not allow the customers to have choice. i thought that this site was about creative freedom, not being forced into wearing colors not of our choosing. after all, this is a business, right? dont you want the customers to be happy and spend their money? one last time, purple sucks. thanks for nothing.

so i don't know about all the drama that lead to this blog, but i must mention that i love purple and purple loves me. however, i do think this shirt should have been reprinted on blue. it just looks better, in my opinion. and because of that, i'm not sure i'll buy it.

I love purple; my husband doesn't. He refuses to wear it. I once convinced him to try on a button-down shirt that was sort of purple and he looked really WRONG in it. I think it's his skin tone. That and he hates purple.

Either way, I think this is a really cute shirt. Incognitum, maybe you should buy it, bleach it out, and dye it another color?

Although my stance on the purple vs non purple shirts is neutral (depends on the design, etc), I do feel that threadless should have reprinted on the original color. When I sign up for a reprint, i want the whole package, not just the design on another shirt. Although, sometimes i do want certain shirts in other colors, I usually just buy shirts for the designs and deal with the colors (like my most recent encounter with heather grey *shudders*.)
