the size of the flame indicates IMO that the flame will be snuffed out before it has a chance to completely melt the ice.

Crap, if I hadn't read this I wouldn't have noticed... I almost missed my chance to pick up a few for friends. I assumed I had plenty of time.

they bump into each other briefly enough that fire doesn't get put out, and ice is only slightly melted. then after standing in front of each other for a while exchanging apologies, ice will melt and fire will just stand there wondering where he went and where this puddle came from.
