Starting this blog for discussion on the comics :D

Also while I wait for the next issue, is there any other good titles to check out?

I got mine from amazong, did drop like $140 tho, you can probably read them on your ipad as well way cheaper

^ same here, they're already marked down about 30% on there as well, so I'm not sure how much cheaper you could get them by looking around more.

At the risk of sounding like "massive nerds reading comics books like 15 yr old virgins" © Randy Otter, I'd recommend getting the compendium. It's a hefty book comprising of issues 1 - 48, but it's about $35 on Amazon.

I really enjoy Hellboy by Mike Mignola. There's a huge catalog of those; the writing is a brilliant mix of dark and hilarious, and the artwork is superb.

the last big story I read was Y the Last Man and I enjoyed it.

Also one of my favorites is We3. It's super short, but i love it and hate it. Hate it because they sort of stole my idea for a cartoon!

I haven't read a comic in almost 14 months. But everything justin suggested is great.

Y is such a great series, you should see that through.
Also, Bone.
and someone mentioned Hellboy above, He's one of my favorite alt. super heroes ever. Also, in a similar vein, except a lot more humorous, there's the Goon. The goon is so awesome.

Y:The last man - the story is okay (although I didn't get into it right away) - The art doesn't impress me all that much.

I recently bought the compendium one. Aside from being a great comic its an arm busting work out just to hold the thing and the perfect unmeditated murder weapon.

How do you think the TV series compares to the comic?

I'm pretty into Fables. I got in at issue #100 or so. Really awesome covers and interesting stories.

The new Moon Knight series is good cool art, as well as DC's relaunched Animal Man.

Just got 'Habibi' by Craig Thompson as well. It looks epic. If it's anywhere near as good as 'Blankets' I'll be a very happy man.

His work with a brush-pen makes is stunning.

Something needs to happen. There needs to be a new nemesis or danger to get things exciting again. Just my current thought.

I'm up to Issue #78 and it's calmed off a bit now after some really dark stuff. I'm really interested to see if Michonne is introduced into the TV show, and even moreso to see how far they take the Governor story - cos some of that stuff was intense in the books.

Seems like the TV guys are reluctant to kill off any of the characters, which is annoying me a bit cos we all know at least a couple wouldn't be missed - T-Dog for example - completely pointless character.

I hate to sound like an ass but I think the only reason he is around is so the studio exec's are satisfied that their is at least one African American in the show. It is kind of sad that the T-bone character is so weak because the African American characters in the comic are some of the most interesting/complex characters in the whole series.

Yeah the compendium. That's what I mean. And my my advice is the opposite to this. Unless you like reading your comic books at a desk like a stupidly massive dictionary.

Yeah when I heard they were making it into a series I was like.. "They can't do the Governor stuff"

All signs from those involved say they indeed want to do the Governor. That being said it would be season 3 for the Governor at the earliest.

From what I've read Kirkman gave Tyrese a 60% chance to be in Season 2, Michonne a 50% chance in season 2 and the Governor a 92% chance for Season 3. I wouldn't be surprised if season 3 the Governor is the main villain from beginning to finale.
