where these icons came from
I have this shirt and I really like it. The icons are based on the mon or traditional family crests of Japan. The designs on this shirt are similar to actual family crests but the icon is broken by altering the symbol so it represents something more mundane or disturbing than the image on the family crest. All the designs that you may see somewhere else that look like these icons are based on Japanese family crests.

I cannot tell you how overjoyed I am that this shirt is aqua and brown not brown and brown or horrible gold and brown. I like the complementary colors and aqua is a little different.

would you mind siting a source for this? These don't look like traditional Japanese symbols to me.

The icons on this shirt are definitely modern and only use the traditional Japanese mon as a starting point. The actual Japanese trad symbols are very cool also. The look is similar.
