So I thought I'd write a post about how I made my last submission, The Unleaving.
1. I started by sketching leaves from my yard's walnut tree with crayons in my sketchbook. I put the color on first and then drew over it with black. 2. I scanned all of the images into the computer (had to go to Officemax to scan the tree since it was in a 19x24 sketchbook) and threw them into Photoshop. ![]() 3. Selected the veins of the leaf and inserted a Threshold layer 4. Selected the inverse and inserted another threshold layer ![]() 5. I can't remember exactly what happened here, but I know that at some point I changed to the Color Indexed mode to change the vein color to white and the rest of the leaves their respective colors. ![]() 6. Voila! You have a shirt! ![]() If you'd like to vote you can here: ![]() Thanks! |
