Brain Teaser

Brain teaser to pass 5 minutes. You can ask me question but I can only answer yes or no. You may get it straight away.

A man lives on the 20th floor of an apartment block. When he leaves in the morning he takes the elevator all the way to the bottom. When he returns from work he takes the elevator up to the 12th floor, gets out and takes the stairs the rest of the way to his apartment. If it's raining or there are other people in the eleveator with him he'll take it all the way up to the 20th floor. why does the man get out on the 12th floor?

He's too short to reach the buttons. If there are other people in the elevator, they can push the button for him. If it's raining, he can use his umbrella to push the button.

I think I read it in a book of riddles and brain teasers. When I was a kid, I loved reading that type of book -- well, that and five-minute mysteries.

Obviously it was time well spent.

every elevator I've been in has lobby or floor 1 at the top and has higher floors near t he bottom.
